Supporting the Growth of Green Havens in Sri Lanka, for a Sustainable Tomorrow.
“A Tree for Life” is our dedication to nurture a sustainable future, while reducing our carbon footprint. Through this initiative, we pledge to plant trees abundantly, not just for today, but for the health of our planet tomorrow. By partnering with local communities, employing eco-friendly practices, and advocating for responsible forestry, we aim to replenish forests and promote biodiversity. Join us in our mission to restore the Earth’s lungs, one tree at a time.
Date of Initiation: 05 June 2022 (World Environment Day)
The current forest cover in Sri Lanka is less than 29.6% (including plantations and general green cover) and the goal of the Forest Department, is to bring it up to 32.6%. Put into a number, that’s nearly 200,000 hectares of land, which needs to be colored green.
As Sri Lanka’s largest exporter of UHT Coconut Cream, we firmly consider this an obligation. Therefore, “A Tree for Life” is unwaveringly committed to not only meeting but surpassing expectations in our contributions to this national cause.
In addition to the initial goal of planting 50,000 trees, “A Tree for Life” by Kandetiya Agro Products in Sri Lanka also aims to instill a lasting commitment to green initiatives among future generations. Accordingly, we actively involve local communities, with a particular focus on engaging young children whenever opportunities arise.
So far, children from preschools, schools and higher education institutes have been planting trees alongside us, instilling confidence that the future of not just our nation but the world, is entrusted to capable hands.
The top producer of UHT Coconut Cream in Sri Lanka, Kandetiya Agro Products is deeply committed to honoring nature in all our endeavors. Be it in our events or special celebrations, we consistently promote the beauty of planting and gifting plants as a humble practice. Each event becomes an opportunity for us to express gratitude to the environment, and by sharing the gift of plants, we hope to inspire a shared commitment to nurturing our precious planet. Join us in this simple yet impactful journey towards a greener, more sustainable future for all
