Scope

Objective
In achieving our esteemed vision ‘For a better tomorrow’ KAP always believes that education is the best investment. The school children are the future of the country and if we can develop them as better individuals with right set of knowledge, exposure, skills and attitude they will develop as well composed individuals which can contribute to the nation’s economy in better ways. Specially there is a big gap in transmission of resources, knowledge and exposure to the schools in rural areas compared with schools in urban areas in Sri Lanka. Our CSR activities will be majorly focused on bridging up this gap and facilitate these socially and economically disadvantaged schools and students to bring them to a level where they can compete with those schools in urban areas.
Target Group
Socially and economically disadvantaged school students learning in rural areas (North Western Province).

This campaign is mainly focused on three main areas.

1. Scholarship Campaigns
There are lot of talented and gifted students in schools in socially and economically disadvantaged schools who struggle to continue their studies and developing their skills due to lower income of their families. Yara Scholarship campaign will be focused on giving the helping hand for those students in terms of financial as well as material to help them to continue with their studies as well as sports and aesthetic talents.
2. Infrastructure Development Program
This is an area where most of the students in rural areas should developed compared with students in urban area schools. It is necessary to develop the soft skills of students to make them more composed and make ready to face the modern world with more confidence.

3.1 Mentoring sessions
It is observable that most of the students and people living in socially and economically disadvantaged areas are having a very narrow mind set and they do not possess stronger desires regarding their future. This narrow mindset is believed to be one of the key factors behind decreased contribution of these individuals to the economy once they joined with workforce. KAP “w;aje,” will be focussing on this area and we will plan many mentoring sessions for them to make sure they come out of that myopic mindset.

It is well accepted that there are very lesser number of platforms available specially for rural students to showcase their talents in current context. KAP “w;aje,” is more than willing to support this issue where we are planning to conduct competitions in certain areas in order to create a platform to perform and develop the skills of the students and bring them in to the national and international level empowering them to dream big and follow their dreams.

This area will be focused on preparing the students in socially and economically disadvantaged schools to select most effective and demanding career opportunities and to perform well in their respective careers. This segment will be covered through vocational trainings with public and private institutions, different career paths available and to disseminate the most demanding and desired careers for the students leaving the schools.
